Our Story
The Heart Behind Thrive in Place
Kim Youngren
Founder & Owner
Some of my earliest and most meaningful memories are of time spent with my grandmothers — standing beside them in the kitchen, helping prepare meals, or quietly taking care of small chores around the house. There was something special in those simple moments, a feeling of connection, trust, and being needed that stayed with me long after I’d grown up and moved on into the world.
Over the years, my career took me through the corporate and nonprofit worlds, where I served as COO of a $300 million company, helped build smaller startups from the ground up, and worked as a consultant helping organizations find their footing and grow. Those experiences taught me how to lead teams, solve complex problems, and build the kind of reliable systems that people can actually depend on — skills that now serve every client I work with.
But through it all, a quiet thread kept pulling me back to where it started — my grandmothers’ kitchens, and the deep satisfaction that comes from showing up for someone in a personal, meaningful way. In recent years, I made the decision to return to my true passion of working with seniors and individuals who need a little extra support, and I’ve been reminded every day of why this work matters so much to me.
Whether it’s driving someone to visit their grandchildren, picking up a prescription, or preparing a light meal, I see how even the smallest acts of care can help people stay connected to the lives and the people they love. And because daily life involves more than just errands and companionship, I also help with the administrative side of things — scheduling appointments, managing bills and household paperwork, sorting through mail and important documents, navigating insurance and benefits, and keeping family members and care providers informed and in the loop. These are the kinds of tasks that can quietly pile up and become overwhelming, and having someone trustworthy to handle them can make all the difference.
“That lifelong passion, paired with decades of professional experience, became the heart behind Thrive in Place — a service built on compassion, trust, and the belief that everyone deserves to live with comfort, dignity, and independence in the place they call home.”
